Within the support of a contemplative environment, a therapy relationship can help you explore your deepest life concerns and questions and help you cultivate a deep sense of personal integrity. It can also support an inquiry into the possibility of developing more fully a commitment to finding one’s truths and living authentically from them.
With an attitude of gentleness and compassion toward meeting all aspects of yourself, we can work to develop your trust in what is being felt and experienced in the moment.
It is also my hope that our work together would contribute to your capacity to create deeply satisfying relationships in which mutual respect, honesty, and spiritual awakening are valued.
With over twenty years of experience in private practice she has received extensive training in working with people who want help with: relationship issues for individuals, couples/pre-marital and marital therapy, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder treatment, career issues, eating disorders, grief counseling, mid-life concerns, cognitive behavioral therapy and women’s development.
Joan Fenold, MFT, is a licensed spiritual psychotherapist for individuals and couples in San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland. Her work weaves together the wisdom of Eastern sacred teachings (Buddhism, Taoism and non-dual understanding) with contemporary relational views of psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapy. She also utilizes and has received training in mindfulness based cognitive therapy for depression, body-oriented awareness and dream work.
