Description of Services

I have been a counselor primarily, and a consultant, coach, and educator on various occasions, for over 25 years. I have a direct and engaging style; I am warm—but not fuzzy. I work best with individuals, couples and families that are seeking concrete feedback and practical solutions to the problems that have derailed their happiness. I help couples communicate more effectively by providing them with the tools and skills to resolve power struggles and gain a true sense of partnership and emotional intimacy. Over the years I have dealt with the myriad problems of addiction, infidelity, financial woes, and blended families, and I have gained substantial insight into what it takes to make relationships work. I have extensive experience in the areas of stress, anxiety and anger management, and I am a proponent of positive psychology and overcoming problems through "emotional intelligence." So if you're looking for a "down to earth, let's fix it if we can" approach, I'm your guy. I offer counseling services in three offices: Oakland, Concord, and San Mateo, California.
