Answer. Any consultation with a divorce lawyer is confidential and is part of attorney/client relationship. You can call the lawyer to set up a first appointment and tell the person who makes the appointment that you will call back to confirm and that they are NOT to call you. Also when you meet with the lawyer tell him/her not to send you any mail to your home. Most spouses open a post office in a nearby town (not in their town) in their own name and use this post office box to facilitate communication with an lawyer by mail. In most cases you can, with some advanced planning, keep your involvement with a divorce lawyer a secret until you file for divorce.
