After the Stepparent Adoption

When a natural father consents to the adoption of his children, or when the court does it involuntarily, he no longer has any legal relationship with his child.  He is not entitled to visitation and has no voice in the child’s upbringing or care. He has no legal access to the child’s school or medical records, nor can he legally contact the child.  Stepparent adoption absolves the biological father of all legal responsibilities toward the child, including the requirement to pay child support.
