There are many organizations that can help you. Alcoholics' Anonymous and other substance abuse programs are available. Marriage counselors or your family physician can help direct you to the proper place to receive the help you need.
If you have a spouse who is mentally ill then get them professional help as soon as possible. If your spouse refuses to go, then you must seriously make a decision on staying in the relationship or divorcing. These types of individuals have a tendency to destroy any relationship and the family in all aspects.
If your spouse has an alcohol or chemical addiction, there are many organizations and rehabilitation centers to assist you and more importantly them. They will attempt to guide your spouse into seeking help. The percentage of success is not very high, but with your support and your marriage at stake, the likelihood of triumph over this evil is much greater.
At the same time, you need to realize the success and recurrence rates. Once you fully appreciate these rates, you will be better prepared for a possible relapse and have a plan already prepared.
