Summary of Experience  
John Brandt has been practicing in the area of family law for more than 30 years. He routinely helps clients with dissolution of marriage, modification of child custody and support, child relocation, paternity and adoption issues.

John is one of only a few area lawyers registered as a Family Law Mediator and trained in collaborative and cooperative divorce methods. See the link below for a recent article he published on both these solution-based, positive approaches to resolve difficult family law problems.
Credentials  
John received his law degree from the University of Toldeo in 1978. He is frequently recognized among his peers for his professionalism, service and leadership. Several years ago he received the Niemann Citation for Excellence from the Allen County Bar Association. Nominations from area attorneys and judges noted his professionalism, integrity and that he treats everyone - staff, clients and opposing counsel - with courtesy and respect. In 2008, John received the Gale M. Phelps Award from the Family and Juvenile Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association for professionalism. He was the first Northeast IN attorney to win this award. John continues to be included among the "Best Lawyers in America" and "Indiana Super Lawyers." He has received the highest "AV" rating from Martindale Hubbell.

John attended Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne and obtained an undergraduate degree from Indiana University's School of Business.
Community Involvement  
John is an active contributor to the Fort Wayne area's business, legal and arts communities. He is currently on the Board of Directors for SCAN (Stop Child Abuse and Neglect), the Allen County Bar Association, the Allen County Bar Foundation, and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. He also chairs the Collaborative Family Law Solutions organization.
