Steve Raynor has handled hundreds of divorce and family law cases since his graduation from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1985. He is trained and experienced in the collaborative divorce process, he is a trained mediator, and he is an experienced and capable trial attorney who provides excellent client service. Clients’ telephone calls are promptly returned, e-mails are promptly responded to, and appointments are typically made within one week.

Steve follows a client-centered approach in which he learns the client's goals and works with the client to create a strategy to meet those goals. Sometimes the goals are a negotiated settlement with a focus on the best interests of the children. In other cases, negotiations may not be successful and litigation is necessary. The majority of Steve’s family law cases settle, but he has extensive experience litigating a wide range of family law issues, from simple motions to multi-day trials.

Steve has a collaborative divorce practice that provides an alternative to the traditional divorce case. He also regularly represents clients in mediation. In addition, Steve is himself trained as a mediator, and he provides mediation services for parties seeking to resolve divorce or family law related issues or disputes.
