The firm represents small businesses, individuals, corporations and commercial lenders throughout the State of Maine. Throughout its history, the members of the firm have been involved with the community serving on local boards of directors, City Council, the State Legislature and Mayor of Auburn.

Barbara was admitted to the Maine and Federal Bars in 1980. She practiced for 5 years with the firm of Lipman and Katz in Augusta, Maine. Since then she has worked at the firm of Trafton and Matzen, where she has been a partner since 1990. Barbara’s practice has been in general civil litigation with a focus on family law. She is rostered as a guardian ad litem by the State of Maine and frequently serves in that capacity. Barbara was appointed by the governor to be an Alternate Chair on the State Board of Arbitration and Conciliation in 1998 and continues to hold that position. Barbara has received mediation training and currently teaches a co-parenting course through the Lewiston and Auburn Adult Education programs.
