About Us
Kathleen M. Nichols founded Kathleen Nichols Mediation Services in 1994 after a 15-year career in law firm administration. After working for ten years in Denver law firms (Holme, Roberts & Owen; White & Steele), Kathleen spent five years as the administrator of Stoel Rives 60-attorney Seattle office. During her law firm career, Kathleen spent many hours helping to resolve conflicts between and among attorneys, staff and supervisors. She also witnessed the devastating results of the legal process on lives and finances.
Believing that mediation is a much better way to resolve most issues than the traditional adversarial process, Kathleen started her new career in mediation. Since 1994, she has mediated well over 1000 cases, including numerous divorce/legal separations/parenting plans, civil court cases, workplace disputes, and conflicts in families with aging parents.
