If she offers 3 @ 1250 spousal that means she will accept less.
I would counter offer 18 months @ $700/ month. Keep negotiating and end up in the middle.
In my case I was married 12 years with 98K income. Her income was $0 She never even worked part time. I negotiated 18 months @ $800/month. However, part of the deal was I took HER marital debt (ouch). I knew she wouldn't pay it anyway, she hasnt even applied for a job, currently mooching off her parents.
