I'm thinking the "outrage" (for dramatic effect) has less to do with who she sleeps with, and more to do with the fact that she is cohabitating/living in a domestic partnership and he still is paying alimony to her and her "wife"/partner. I'd be pissed too. If she wants to live as a married partner with a woman that is fine, but he shouldn't have to support this partnership financially.
