Too little too late. Don't worry. Your boys are going to be better fathers for it. They will never want their kids to hurt like they have.
And his wife will always be second. And that's a hard place to be.
He has probably regretted it for long time.But he is really going to hate it when the weddings and babies, he's going to miss. Sure he's got girls, but boys make sure he knows what a jerk he is.
Tell your DH how much you love him and if he's been dad this long he'll always be Dad to them. You are lucky and kind it sounds like. I would have left that jerk in the dust a long time ago and moved where ever the heck I wanted. And goodness always is rewarded, bitterness is always a rocky road.
