Debt/Bankruptcy

In my final divorce papers it states that we split our debt 50/50. However...b/c my ex didn't make enough money to pay his portion of the debt it couldn't be inforced. If however he did make enough to cover his debt then he would be found in contempt of court and be jailed/fined, etc. Now at the time my ex was living on his own...now he is engaged living with his fiancee her mother and 2 other adults in a small 3 bedroom house. I'm sure he can cover 150 a month in debt bills seeing he doesn't pay 800-900 a month in expenses he used to on his own. So I just don't know if I have to take him to court to have this inforced? I wasn't paying my portion of the bills either b/c I was covering his portion for 5 months, and just couldn't afford it anymore. I'm the single mom in school. I could afford it if he threw in his side. So anyways. I just need to know if I would have to pay out of pocket to take him to court or do I just have to file something with the court that he's in contempt? I'm sure he'll come up with some excuses that he still can't afford it, not hard to lie about expenses.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Melissa
