Hello, I am wondering if anyone here can help me. I live in Alabama and my son died 6 years ago. His daughter was 16 months when he passed away. His wife has remarried and has 2 more children and has moved to Tennessee. Up until last year we had been seeing our grandaughter fairly frequently, about every 3-4 months. Then, for whatever reason (we still don't know), they would not answer calls from us and agreed to only meet us for 2 hrs to see our gd at Christmas. We have asked for reasons and given very flimsy excuses. Been busy, ect ect. They just moved to another house in Nashville and had phone numbers (cell and home) changed except for her husband now who will talk to us occasionally. He is the only one who will talk to us and seems to be sorry about the situation. He has commented that he has tried to get his wife to allow us visitation but she refuses to even talk to us about it. We are thinking of suing for gp's rights. Since we live in different states, is that possible? Do we need to file in Alabama, or Tennesee? Does Tennesee even recognize gp's rights? Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you! |
