I would make sure your son's name is on the birth certificate. I don't know for certain about your local laws....but a lot of fathers have a hard time getting decent parenting time because they have to jump through hoops to "prove paternity" to the court....even when the entire county knows who the baby belongs to. Also, if she prevents their marriage for any period of time, he will be responsible for child support....even if all three of them (mom, dad and baby) live in your house. I know...it's crazy....but that's how it works.

As for her getting custody.....no way. But....that's another bonus for getting his name on the birth certificate....just in case. He would be the "known father" and entitled to certain rights within the family court system.
