What can I expect to pay in maintenance?

I've been married about 28 years and am considering leaving my wife. She has worked on and off during our marriage, and although she has a MSW, has worked menial jobs. When I made a significant amount of income, she decided to not work because she didn't need to. We have two non-minor children. If I want a divorce, what can I expect to pay in maintenance and for how long? I make approximately $500,000/year. I am not looking to screw her, but I am not looking to end up with nothing after all the hard work I put in to make a good income. I am willing to give her the house in a settlement and pay for my child's remaining college education. I'm just trying to get a sense of what a realistic split of assets and maintenance might amount to. The house is our biggest asset, the rest is not really significant. I live in Lake County, Illinois. Am also looking for some good lawyer recommendations if anyone has one.
