I know for sure through neighbors and other ways. I don't really want to say more. He is getting BAH...the BAH is $1179 and the difference to me is supposed to be $699 for support. I'm looking at one of his LES's right now. He is claiming me as a dependent also & will continue to as long as he continues to live there(I guess). I just talked to his commander recently and updated him on the situation and to see if anything more was being done about trying to get stbx to pay support...and guess what response I get?..."Well, he says one thing & you say something else". Then I said, that's all fine and well, but I can back up what I say and he can't, so does that factor into anything? The fact is he is not supporting his family and so far this has been ok. the whole problem with the Army & this kind of situation, the spouse's seem out of luck if the member doesn't want to pay...because they do not have to. They only receive the suggestion to support their family, but I suppose a couple of straight-face lies will make it ok not to pay. Right now, the commander is unaware that stbx will be served by a sheriff very soon and that he is also housing a friend in a house meant for a 4-5 member family. Do you think me talking to the commander about this situation is a good idea or a bad one? One thing I don't want is to have the commander mad because I call too much. I will be calling housing soon. I will keep my posts updated as more things happen. Getting him served right now is priority. I am very afraid he is gonna pull the Civil Protection Act and have everything postponed. Can you tell me how that works & why he would be able to use it, if at all? Thanks again. |
