You only have to go by the established paternity. Who is the established father, on the birth certificate, or whatever is used by the civil authorities, courts, etc. The Army is not demanding that anyone have a paternity test. You can call DEERS, and ask them what they require for proof of paternity. As far as the ID card, it is the property of the Government, you can turn it in when the divorce is final. You do not have to give it to him. I am guessing he probably has a ton of things with your SSN, and signature on them, so not sure why that would be the issue, but if you want, you can call deers, and handle it all. The only thing the Army wants is proof of paternity, whatever that takes. It may be a paternity test, but it does not have to be one. |
