with all due respect, some of your comments came off a bit judgemental. I am here for input...not to be judged.

No, it isn't, but doing some work, during the break, to keep her mind stimulated is bad in my eyes.
"Lowering yourself to the level of competing with his fiancee...well....that's another matter altogether."
I am not competing with her stepmom...I am just confused as to how I should respond/react/feel about the situation.
Maybe she was just saying this as a response to the homework??
any more input?
