You are obligated to the creditor. You could sue in small claims court to seek reimbursement from the significant other. However, you would have to prove thatthe charges were his and that th ere was some agreement to pay you for those charges. A verbal agreement is as binding as a written one. The difficulty is in proving it existed or its terms.
