A bit of an odd situation

I find myself in a bit of an odd situation. My ex and i split almost two years ago. For nearly the first year of that i couldn't bring myself to kick him out and separate him from our children. I thought it was best for them if they grew up having both of us around. My ex, however, thought differently. In July of this past year, he took my children from Alaska where we were all living to California so he could be closer to his mother. This is his defense every time something gets too hard for him to deal with he runs home to mommy. We were both in agreement about his taking them to California until June 15th of this coming year. The problem comes in that one of his roommates from just before he moved (the kids were staying with him because i didn't have room for all three of them or a job to support them at the time) came to me and brought up accusations of sexual abuse of our oldest daughter. She is five years old. I haven't actually seen him do it, nor do i think it's exactly wise to ask him (he's a very good liar and I would never know if what he said was the truth or not). I want to take a trip down there and find out for myself. But I don't know what I can legally do. Legally, we are both custodial parents, and all of our custody and divorce matters have been settled out of court. But now i'm starting to wonder if I made the right choice about letting them go. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
