I think this is GREAT advice but not very realistic. The dynamics are too varied. You can have a blanket set of rules and standards you parent by, but all children, bio, step or adopted are going to have their own set of issues. You will need to handle them accordingly.
Often, skids will not listen to or respect a step parent...that makes it nearly impossible for the SP to "parent" the same.
