As long as that was a discussion prior to the marriage, sure. Personally, if I was to marry someone with children... yeah, I would expect to assume some parenting/care taking responsibilities during the marriage while the children were in the home. I'm not talking about replacing a mom, but just doing every day stuff, including enforcing established rules in the home.
