Cassie gave the example of her bio kids sometimes being jealous of Cassie's sd getting 2 birthdays and Christmases. To a child, that could seem unfair. I've heard enough stories about Cassie's dh's ex's toxicity to know that the damage that was done to sd would FAR outweigh a few extra gifts. That's an adult perspective

Yes, good to see you Finz and I couldn't agree with you more :)
We essentially paid for most of SD's schooling for the first 2.5 years. As we roll into the 3rd year she will be covering most of it. As she is looking into being a RA and/or joining the Navy. She also applied for about 50 scholarships. We would really like her to apply for about 250, but baby steps. I think she is finally seeing that her parents just won't be able to pay for all of her schooling.
