Tax claimed on property - who gets what

I have a question for seasoned divorced/separated people - how do you claim the taxes for the real estate? i don't know if he is going to claim it all or not. He does not tell me which way he does. Expects me to know. Anyway, if I claim half of it and he has claimed all of it - what happens? We have been separated through all of 2008.
