You can amend your return to a filing separately status -- there doesn't have to be anything wrong with the return to do that.

And what is it you want to do exactly about her filing when you hadn't looked over it? Have her charged? Why did you file together anyway? The IRS states that if you're separated at year end, you can file as if you were single -- so why the joint return anyway? You're not required to do that.
