It is legal in the sense that there is no specific law that addresses it.
How old is the child? How long have the two of you been apart?
Unless you have written into your decree that NEITHER of you may have an overnight guest of the opposite sex staying overnight when the child is there, you're pretty much screwed on that one.
Did they purchase a house together? Rent a house together?
