Proving co-habitation to end alimony?
I recently went thru a horrible divorce and lost everything I owned including 60 percent of my savings, 401k and retirement. I spent the rest of my savings trying to get a fair deal and now I am broke. I pay her 60 percent of my salary in alimony and am not making ends meet, just deeper in debt every month. My problem is, I have a clause in my divorce agreement that says if she co-habitates for more than 30 days I no longer have to pay alimonhy. She has lived with a guy for 6 months and my old house (she got in divorce) is now up for sale. I know she live with this guy, she knows I know, but lies and says she doesn't and tells me "you can't prove anything" and she is kind or correct. I can't afford a Private Investigator to get pics for a month of her at his house, and can't afford a lawyer. I am considering selling my truck, which is the only thing I own in life now to pay expenses to prove co-habitation. I have been told it is almost impossible to prove they are shacking up and harder yet to get out of the alimony. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Would I be wasting my money? Any ideas appreciated. I have 2 more years of this crap to pay if I can't get out of it. She makes three times what I do and doesn't need the money, she is doing this to try to ruin me (and she is succeeding) and make life miserable. Help!

Just wondering..... if she makes three times what you do, why are you paying her alimony?

I know....gotta love it. Seems it doesn't matter. They arrived at the figure because it makes the house payment for her and pays her insurance.
