Am I expecting too much to think that the papers my lawyer draws up should be correct?!?!?! I am drawing up papers for temp custody of my children and for the 3rd time she draws up papers that my 5th grader couldve done a better job. I am stuck with her and feel like I should get paid to correct the mistakes she has made. The first papers literally said that HE have temp custody of the kids just because they didn't correct the fact that I was the defendant and he was plaintiff! They should've learned from that but no the papers they sent this time they confused plaintiff and defendant again. They put something in there stating that pick up and drop offs are at my house, he lives in CA and I in NC come on how is that possible? She screwed up the visitation times, she has me living in Wake County NC and CA, really???? The papralegal emails me and say that the father wants sole custody, spoke with the father he never said that and he calls the paralegal and she had the nerve to say it was a miscommunication on MY PART!!! I know I am ranting but $6,000 for this? What can I do? I cant get the money back so I am stuck with her. Is there anything I can do to scare her into doing her job right????

Sloppy work, you are right. If you have an agreement, read papers carefully and review your bill carefully not to pay for their errors.

My lawyer was good for the most part. But I made it very clear that I would not pay for re-dos due to their error. Once I brought it to their attention, they were very good about removing the charge. I saved about $800 due to this (on a $37000 total bill).

My ex's lawyer is the butt of many jokes around town because of this crud. I had many comedic opportunities at his expense due to spelling, grammatical, and outright stupidity in his filings. Shoot, even his interrogatories requested I return them to a completely different attorney.
I used my attorney as a mouthpiece and adviser. I wrote and reviewed everything filed and/or signed.
