Long story short: I was mobilized 9/11, husband retired from AD and moved to our home in Kentucky. I stayed on AD so he could enjoy retirement. I was transferred to DC and he said he wanted to stay in KY. He ended up having an affair for 3 years and since I was only able to come home once a month, I was oblivious. He has moved out and living with her and says he wants a divorce. I have 2 questions: 1. There is no way we can sort 20-years worth of belongings all at one time; there is just no way I can protect myself. Since I am in the military and stationed outside of the state, could the judge use that to grant me a legal separation even if my husband says he wants a divorce? 2. My husband moved out and I was given 30 days to come home and settle my affairs as best I can. I have to return to DC shortly. My brother and his wife are willing to come and live here and take care of the property and animals. My husband said he will not fight me for the property but if he finds out I have returned to DC can he have my brother and his wife evicted? Do I have any rights or options? Kentucky is a NO FAULT state. I am getting ready to lose my mind! Please help!!!! |
