Moving / Child support / loss of $
|
|
So the ex and I are moving to the same town. I get discharged from the army March 1st. I won't get my MArch 1st paycheck until April 1st. Do I still have to pay child support on MArch 1st if I don't get a paycheck? How does that work? Would I be able to get some kind of liniency from the court? We share 50/50 custody, I only pay her CS because I make more money than her; however, as of MArch 1st all of that will change but I know you can't really modify child support until you have the proof of income...has anyone else been through this?

You owe the full support. You have pay whatever your court order says, or have try to have it changed.

You owe it regardless of when you get paid. When I separated from the AF they did not hold checks like they do now. I heard they hold final paychecks for 30 days now, scary thinking of what DFAS/Finance can screw up in that time.
You will have to motion to modifiy CS once you move, and establish jurisdiction in your new state. This is not instant.
