Cuyahoga County: 1 Fathers facing the uphill system: 0
Congrats to Cuyahoga for murdering another one of us. A job well done to the CSE. I just hope that they don't spend the life insurance money in one place.

Obviously there is something going on within the Levert family. He is the second brother/son to die in the last two years.
CSE did not kill him, maybe he should not have gotten 85K in arears. Using your logic, wouldn't that be more like "suicide".
He was a man of some money from a wealthy family. He had no reason to be 85K in arrears.

He died because he had a $50-a-day marijuana addiction and untreated high blood pressure. It may be the addiction to blame for why he was $85K behind in CS. His CHOICE. His CHOICE to not have his blood pressure treated. His CHOICE to allow himself to get behind and be arrested. The system just had the misfortune to have him finally kick the bucket from his bad lifestyle, while he was in their custody, and now they gotta clean up the mess HE created. And you weep for him and defend his actions. So typical.

It would seem that child suport played no role.
"Sean's older brother Gerald, 40, died in 2006 from an accidental but lethal combination of prescription and over-the counter medicine.
Sean, 39, had just begun a 22-month sentence for failing to pay $85,000 in child support. He was taken from the Cuyahoga County Jail about 11 p.m. Sunday and died within the hour at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, said Powell Caesar, a spokesman for the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office."
According to Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Nancy Margaret Russo, who meted out the sentence, Levert admitted to having a $50-a-day marijuana addiction and untreated high blood pressure.

...a FIFTY dollar a DAY pot habit is HUGE. Do you KNOW how much weed you can get for $50? At LEAST a half ounce. You would have to pretty much smoke ALL day, ALL the time.

Wow, FINALLY!! Cuyahoga County is going after NCP's who are far behind in their CS payments. Didn't think that would happened with the CSA attitude.
If this guy was arrested for stealing and than died would you feel the same way that this guy was murdered? Well this guy DID steal and from his own child.

and the point of your post is what exactly...??
the post made no mention how it was the jailhouse's fault that he was $58,000 in arrears for child support or how it was the courthouse's fault that he was $58,000 arrears in child support or anything else for that matter.
unless the purpose of your post was to point out what a loser this man ended up being $58,000 in arrears for child support and leaving his kids high and dry figuratively speaking but he wasn't going to short change a $50 a day drug habit....hmmmm...your post was about what exactly??

perhaps the pot addiction inhibited his responsibilities, including the requirement to pay his CS.
There are lots of celebrities out there, particularly athletes, who are in arrears for CS. I am shocked they locked him up for the arrears. All that wealth, and they are too busy with their own lives to help care for children they fathered/mothered

I have NO clue either so don't feel bad. But a $50 a day habit of anything is not good, that is about $1,500 average a month.
