long distance parenting plan
      #759116 - 08/11/11 10:33 AM

im trying to come up with a long distance parenting plan for my ex with my attorney and i cant think of anything. When we went to the mediator she said my daughter wasnt ready for overnights with him yet so me sending her to virginia for a week or so isnt a good idea. Im so confused because i want a judge to look at it and understand that im not trying to move to keep them two apart but without any overnights yet im hitting a big wall. What do you think is a good parenting plan if we were told my daughters not ready to spend the night yet?

A little background: My daughter is 4 yrs old and her father and i have been seperated since i was 4 months pregnant. He was never in her life until this May 2011 when he was told through a mutual friend that me and my husband of 3.5 yrs was moving in Jan. 2012. He then filed for visitation. He was given supervised visitations on every wednesday for 3 hrs. I am now filing my motion for relocation because my husband has a GREAT job offer in Ohio. My ex is contesting to the move because he says he wants our daughter for 2 weeks every month and he cant get that if we move from virginia.

You're ex lives in Michigan.
You live in Virginia.
You want to move to Ohio.

& your ex is contesting the move to Ohio?

He has supervised visits 3 hours a week? How is that possible if you live in Virginia and he lives in Michigan?

Aren't you posting under another name here?

Why are the visits supervised? Is it because he is gradually coming back into the child's life? If that is the case, he will be looking to get more time with the child while you are still local. Is there something wrong with him?

Of course you're looking out for your family, the family that has been functioning without him for the past four years. But that has changed and he is back. Your best bet is to make the most of it and hope you can work out a deal for long distance.

I have heard a family here that has a child who flies once a month at the expense of the parent who moved to see the other parent. How far is a drive? Would he consider meeting half way?

Have you asked him what he thinks would be acceptable to allow you to move with the child?

I thought the job offer was in TEXAS? Do you think we are STUPID? You are the SAME as "keepingme0810" in the thread below.

no nothings wrong with him. He is only getting supervised for the reason you stated. I have presented him having one day a week of overnights and every other saturday, and sundays from 10a- 730p because her bedtime is at 830p. and he can get her for every holiday while we're still here. But he said no to that too. Then i also stated that i will fly here back here for one weekend a month and 6 weeks out of the summer he also said no to that also. So now idk what to do.

Yeah, okay, so TWO people have VERY similar names (an abstract verb followed by a pronoun, followed by the same date), and who have virtually IDENTICAL stories (long distance parenting plan, wants to move due to new spouses job, father gets supervised parenting time of three hours a week, wants more, moving in January or 2012, yadda yadda yadda).

Sorry, TOO much of a coincidence.

ok well please dont respond since my post is an burden to you. I used 0810 because that's my wedding anniversary why dont you ask the other poster why they chose it or better yet just dont respond to my post unless you are going to help me with my situation. Like i said before thank you and have a blessed day. I will not be responding to your comments anymore unless their helping my situation.

Yeah, and the OTHER poster is dealing with MICHIGAN in court, and you just HAPPENED to make a mistake and say MICHIGAN in your original post, LOL.

You want advice, give the kid to DAD, because you are OBVIOUSLY unstable, based not JUST on your inability to keep your story straight, but also in maintaining a residence.

This lying poster put their "long distance parenting plan" at another site just yesterday using the name "keepingme810." Here's the link:
