Actually, Royce, he's in... [Re: royce]

Nevada City which is in Nevada County, California, about 60 miles from the capitol, Sacramento. No charge for the reading OR geography lesson.

By the way, he IS licensed by the state as a real therapist, a psychologist. I couldn't help but notice you completely ducked my question about licensure or certification some time back. Guess you don't have any bonafides.

And you wonder why I consider you less than legiitimate.

If that were the case then I'd certainly make sure they were properly licensed and certified and didn't have anger management disorders.

Professionally, in addition to the public policy arena I mostly work in, I'm also an advocate for the mentally ill and I'll go to any legal lengths necessary to protect them from charlatans.

Aren't you glad you're safe in backwards land?

Tisk tisk folks do we need to have a 3rd party come in and resolve this? This alls sounds as about as productive as a marital argument

That licensed thing is good so long as the people actually know what they're doing. I think everyone can recognize that there are plenty of people with "certifications" and licenses in all walks of life for which the certification or license is nothing more than a useless piece of paper.

No offense to licensed counselors, but when my wife and I dumped our "licensed" counselor we got more results in a couple of hours from someone who knew what they were doing than from months of counseling.

If ol' Royce gets results then what's the problem? Royce - you do get results don't you?

The problem is that Royce has passed himself off as a therapist. That's a professional and licensing category. He never responded to my question as to what type and licensed or certified by whom.

In this country and state, misrepresenting oneself as a therapist without the appropriate and necessary education, clinical experience and credentialing is fraud, results notwithstanding.

I do agree with you that misrepresenting one's self as licensed when you are not is fraud, results notwithstanding.

I wonder how that works across international boundaries though? I really don't know. Does the US reciprocate in acknowledging this type of licensing across international boundaries?

The US doesn't even reciprocate across state borders except in cases of dire emergency such as Katrina. Someone trained and licensed in another state or country who wants to practice in a state here has to take the qualifying exam for the state in which they wish to practice and have equivalent educational background and clinical experience to be licensed to practice. In many cases that requires additional education and experience as well as normal continuing education requirements.

This forum seems to be turning into free ads for Royce, Isabella, Darren, Shohn and that crackingsolutions person.

Other than Shohn, who does offer some advise along with his web site ads, the rest are not so well vieled as to what they are doing.

Shame on you for attempting to take advantage of someone else's pain.
