Divorce was in may of 04, I started paying in april of 04 and stayed a month ahead, He came to live with me in summer of 04 and I paid until APR of 08. The legal requirement in LA is until 19 or when he graduates whichever comes first. Yeah, I was a paying NCP, then I was the CP and still paid just to make sure she had a chance to get a fresh start. But its over now.

For OD it will end in 4 years. It doesn't matter because a large portion is going into savings for her (she doesn't know that and won't). I didn't get CS until about a month ago so it's not like putting it in a savings account will be a hardship.
For my 2 middle daughters it's hard to tell. X only pays 32.00 a month now but if he takes it back for CS review I will probably have to pay him since we have 50/50 on paper. (and he hasn't seen them in over 2 years. Nice huh?) Hopefully he is putting some of the money aside that he is not using to support them. 32.00 a month doesn't begin to cover food, clothes and extracurriculars so any money I "could" save for them is being used on them now.
YD, I'll receive CS for the next 17 years. Right now it's all being used on her (and then some definitely) since daycare, diapers and baby food are so expensive. Not to mention all her meds for the ear infections. New clothes she grows out of daily ( I must admit her grandma sends her a lot of things), car seats, and things she needs as she grows, ect....I hope I get to a point where what I receive in CS is more than half of what it takes to support her and I can bank it for her. (meaning the cost of raising her goes down not that there is a CS increase) Right now I definitely spend more than an equal amount of the CS on her.

DH just stopped paying CS since he got custody. BM still pays nothing. If she ever pays, it will end in 16 yrs and 3 monthes. (C will be 18)
My son's dad just started paying and has already stopped. AHH! According to the CO it will stop in 5 years when J turns 18 unless he is still in school. It will continue if J lives with me and goes to college but I doubt that since the college is 1 1/2 hours away.
My girls' dad's cs will be cut in 1/2 in 7 1/2 years when my oldest daughter turns 18. Then it will completely end in 9 yrs and 4 monthes when youngest daughter turns 18. The only CS order is through the divorce. We handle it ouselves basically and always have.
Following on from a couple of other posts, when does CS end in your household... in how many years? Either when does your household stop paying or when does your household stop recieving it?
In my State CS is until age 18 but can continue until age 19 if the child is attending an accrediated HS. It can stop if the child is emancapated. I do think there is a provision if the adult child is disabled.
My husband has an order to recive CS. It will stop upon my YSS graduation from HS in 2011 a few months before he turns 19. He doesn't receive any CS now.

Honestly, I don't know! I need to read the CO again. If it goes by age, we have 4.5 years left to pay. If it goes until HS graduation, it's 5.5 years. SD13, in the 7th grade, still misses an average of 2 days per week of school. I highly doubt she will EVER graduate.
At any rate, it's going to be interesting. After we are finished paying on SD13, BM has to start paying on SD10. It should be a world of fun to see how consistent she is when the shoe is on the other foot!
I should get CS for another 7-8 years. He has 3 years left to pay on DD15 and would get a decrease at that time. However, he only pays 1/2 of what he's supposed to now, so I don't see a decrease happening for him.

Has your husband thought to go for custody of your SD13 due to educational neglect? Missing about 2 days per week is excessive. I don't remember reading about any medical condition that would warrent her missing that many days of school.
It may not be easy but it can be done. Excessive absences from school is educational neglect. I HATE to see any child not get an education.
