"The one who said she was on state assistance, and working 50-60 hours a week. " Nice victim. If she's so poor that she has to be on state assistance, she should be too poor for the haircut and higlights.
Hmm I can't watch the link until I get home but what kind of state aid does she get? If she is working and meets the income restrictions, what is the problem?
I have Primary Care (Medicaid) for my kids and work full time but I still expect Ex to pay CS. If I had to pay family health insurance it would be over $600 mo from my work. Ex doesn't carry insurance on the kids, supposed to and told me he enrolled them last year but everytime I ask for a card or information he ignores me or replies with some rude remark. So 4 yrs ago I applied and was approved. They review it every 6 months here for income. Without the state insurance? I wouldn't have a place to live. Between hospital bills, premiums, Doctor Appts, and time off to care for my son I would be flat broke. This is the first year I was comfortable monetarily.
Now People who are lazy and chose not to work and live off the state. I think they qualify as a deadbeat. Sometimes there are reasons we don't know though.
Haircut and highlights? If salon then yea, nice victim but my friend and I have a barter system. She does my hair and the boys hair and I in return do errands and things for her.

They count the CS I receive as income in NE. On everything but taxes almost.

Yes that is true, they do that here as well. I applied for assistance when I was first separated - I made too much to qualify anyway, and not enough to do it all on my own...but they still counted his income, and what I received in CS (I take that back - what I was SUPPOSED to be receiving)

Utterly true, and WTH is PA? Assuming it's related to welfare, which is what we've been talking about... I never said it MADE UP the cost, I said it LOWERED the cost. Which is savings for the state.
>>>>>>>>>> Look up the data on TANF , the savings for CS collected are next to NOTHING (3-4%).

I was confused about that as well.. So I called and asked. Is it what he is CO to pay or what he DOES pay? All CS goes through the state here and the lady told me they can verify what he pays so I was to average 3-6 mos (whichever they wanted) and use that. Considereing I was applying because he wasn't paying and I was worried about it.

"Haircut and highlights? If salon then yea, nice victim but my friend and I have a barter system. She does my hair and the boys hair and I in return do errands and things for her." No, I don't know how she got her highlights. I would say your system is probably the exception. I don't want to turn this into a welfare thread, but yes, I have an issue with that system. Ex and both sm#1 and now #2 now milk the system. When you are spending your own money on crap, knock yourself out. When you are spending taxpayors moneys, then no, I don't think you should have the cash for smokes, tanning, or the bar.
In the interest of full disclosure - my kids both have state insurance as a secondary, so I'm probably a hypocrite. :p

"Look up the data on TANF , the savings for CS collected are next to NOTHING (3-4%). " How do you measure how many people do NOT qualify for welfare benefits because they recieve cs (foodstamps, state insurance, TANF, Section 8/rental assistance, heating assistance, etc.)?

I don't know it if works different in other places. Here, (this was 3 years ago), it was what he was supposed to be paying, and they also included his income since we had joint custody.

Agreed! Personally I think state insurance is very different from welfare. To me welfare is when someone lets the state pay for food and shelter. Which can be a wonderful system when someone needs a helping hand but too many people take full advantage and feel entitled.

Just think, if we destroy the econmy even further, and give more people assistance, and turn it into an entitlement, we can be in full power soon enough
