Yesterday evening in the snow storm, my nephew was in a head-on wreck. Got the news that he is not going to make it and will be taken off of life support.
So please when you buy your kid a car, try to make sure that the vehicle has an air bag system and that it is working. It will be marked on the steering wheel, with SRS, or SIR.
If you do have a car with an airbag system, it will have an airbag light. If the airbag light is on...IT WILL NOT DEPLOY in an accident.
Now for the pissed off part...this is the same brother with the Princess, who of coarse got the newer car with the safety features. Nephew got the older truck with a seatbelt.
I just want to scream and reach out and punch something.

My dear friend, I am so sorry. What else can words do but know that your cyber sisters (and brothers) are there with you as your family goes through this loss. Just know you are in my thoughts sweetie. Hope it helps...

My deepest condolences. Is the family donating his organs, so that out of this seemingly senseless tragedy, perhaps some good can come about?

I have no clue? The priest has been called for his last rights. Then another brain scan after that. I have not asked such a personal question and probably won't.
If they do great...if they decide not too, then that is fine too..it is their child.

My plate if full. My friend is the hospital again. The docs are saying the AML is back. So all the chemo and stem cell transplant did not work. She keeps running fevers. Today they are putting a scope in her lung, they spotted a little bit of fluid in there and want to do a culture to see if that is the cause? The test was scheduled for this morning, but her fever with the chills they couldn't, so she is having that done now. I talked to her yesterday, and I can tell by her voice things are not good. They are doing what they call paliative care, which is still try to treat but keep her comfortable. Next step is Hospice.
Monday they were going to try this drug that shakes up your DNA to try and get the baby cellls to grow. But they couldn't start that until the fever stuff is gone.
Last week they have went over 2 million for the treatment so far. Just so sad.
I talked to her hubby for about 2 hours Sunday on the phone, he is worn out too. He doesn't think she understands what the docs are saying? He is staying strong, says he is not going to break down.
I have a feeling that I am going to break down this evening. Thinking Hot Tub, Booze and some Star looking we be it for me this evening.
