The "stupid" comment was TOO the principal when she kept harpoing on the text...
---> So okay...you got belligerent the principal instead of teacher...semantics.
So she got involved BEFORE any insults were throw. THAT is what is so frustrating, there was ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for her to get involved.
---> First of all, your son was just involved in a fight the day before, for which he received an ISS and here he is AGAIN...getting into 'trouble'. Second...it's her job to get involved; it's part of the duties of being a Principal of a school.

Say what you want. MY son has NEVER been disciplined by the principal, in ISS, or detention. He's in 9th grade & I've never talked to ANY of his principals about his behavior or actions.

He's all about making friends and influencing people.....I bet he'd show up in a wife heater saying "hey, ya'll, watch this".
I bet the school will be so glad to see the last of the herd gone....his kids are always in trouble it seems or he's causing trouble.

Hey, we used to have another "runswithscissors" here, went by the name "Caro" sometimes. I mean i KNOW you couldn't be her, since she said she was leaving and not coming back.

That's because of the great influence he gets living with his father most of the time.

Depending on the circumstances going to the school may not have been an option. For example, a life or death issue with a family member and you want to make different transportation arrangements and tell them why, but you can't be there to deliver the news in person. You also don't want an administrator, who's not family, to be the one to tell them.
You do the best you can by being the one to deliver the news, provide instruction and get back to the immediate issue at hand.
Drop everything and run to the school is not necessarily an option and shouldn't be the ruler by which "important enough" is judged, IMO.
I tend to agree that lazy ass parents are the reason that so many school's overstep and talk to other parents like they're morons. I've had to deal with SS15s school and teachers of late, and their approach towards me has changed significantly since our first visit. They went from an attitude of "well you may not understand, but your son..." to telling me that they wish they had other parents who followed through like I do. It's almost as if they have low expectations so they're not disappointed, then are surprised when they have a parent who wants to be involved.
