However, if I don't help fund on a federal level peoples birth control who can't or won't afford it. Am I then stuck with paying for their spawns housing, food, clothing and medical? ______________________________

To me, if you pay for the little blue pill then you need to provide birth control.

Since when is it the government's job to make sure services are available? Isn't that a communities' job - to make sure things they need are accessible? To recruit doctors and dentists and teachers, etc?

Aren't you already stuck paying for it anyway? It doesn't appear to be working, lol.

It's a shame more communities don't do that.

they don't provide "controversial" services like abortion and birth control.
---> Birth control is 'controversial'? Then why aren't people picketing all the stores that sell condoms, sponges and foams?
But if you wanna FVCK, you can pay for your own birth control, and if you wanna get an abortion, you can pay for it yourself.
---> I don't have an issue with my tax dollars going to provide folks who don't have the ability to pay with low-cost or no-cost condoms and The Pill; it's a hell of a lot cheaper than supporting a child.
---> And despite what is being touted in the media and Pro-Life advocates, Planned Parenthood does NOT provide free abortion services. Women who cannot afford it are referred to OUTSIDE sources who then provide the funding.

Actually I wish we would provide for free longterm contraception. Mirena, Depo, sterilization etc. But not the pill. It can be a wasted expense if the person doesn't take it consistently. At least with the others you know you are getting your moneys worth as a tax payor.

I thought PP paid for the Depo?
It is what my sd used when she was young, single, broke, and did not want to bring a child into the world she couldn't afford to raise. Should she have been having se x - not really my business but at least she took precautions to not get pregnant.

I think they do, but they don't really adequately cover longterm things like Norplants replacement or Mirena. I read a study that further explored why low income women chose the least reliable forms of BC - condoms and pill. It basically boiled down to even though in total Mirena and such are cheaper, the upfront cost is too daunting even when reduced. When all options are free - low income women will choose the most reliable.
