Yep, right here:
[censored]://[censored].foxnews.com/us/2012/06/01/media-argues-against-sealing-zimmerman-records/
The 21st paragraph (small paragraphs) reads:
"However, Lester dismissed that concern as the equivalent of someone who has lost a driver's license, applies for a new one and then finds the old one."

It was AFTER THAT the phone conversation came to light about putting the passport in a different place.

LOL, no, it was the CONVERSATION, recorded on the jail house PHONE, that LED to the bail revokation. Because the conversations were also the ones about the MONEY.
Damn woman, READ OCCASIONALLY, you would be much better informed.

Have you even READ the RULING?????? The judje didn't think the 2nd passport was "Bull@hit" at all. My God!
"Notably, together with the passport, the money only had to be hidden for a short time for him to leave the country if the defendant made a quick decision to flee," Lester wrote. "It is entirely reasonable for this court to find that, but for the requirement that he be placed on electronic monitoring, the defendant and his wife would have fled the United States with at least $130,000 of other people's money."

During the phone recordings Zimmerman didn't even consider the EM as an option.

Its not 1950, the PHYSICAL passport means very little right now. Hell, they don't even need to enter the NUMBERS into the computer, every passport has an RFID tag embedded in it. They wave the wand over it, it brings up the info. So even if he DID try to use the passport he had, it is flagged, and he wouldn't be able to get through.
But lets assume he COULD use it, or didn't NEED to use it (he is in Florida, after all, a boat escape is a possibility). The ankle monitor merely detects where he is. SO he cuts the monitor, and heads for the water. Nothing truly STOPS him from running...yet he DIDN'T.

When was the last time you drove over a boarder where, when leaving, they "waved a wand" over a passport? Seriously, when? No really, when?
On to the EM, the SECOND the signal is lost the local police are notified. He wouldn't have gotten to the driveway.

"No really, when?"
March 25, New Orleans, but I digress. If you can walk or drive across a border without a passport...why would him HIDING his passport make a difference then?
"On to the EM, the SECOND the signal is lost the local police are notified. He wouldn't have gotten to the driveway."
That would be GREAT if he was under house arrest...but he's NOT. He is allowed to LEAVE his house between the hours of 6AM and 6PM, and go ANYWHERE in Seminole county he wants to go.
And BTW< you have FAR too much faith in electronic monitoring. It is done by a third party. When the signal goes off, they call the police, who send a car by the house to check on the person in question. It not like there is a special car, dedicated to HIM< that will RUSH to the scene the SECOND it goes off.
But all of that is MOOT, because he DIDN'T run.
