I'm a little surprised at this choice. Paul Ryan is a much stronger personality than Mitt. It's as if he is counting on Ryan to inject some backbone. I can't quite figure Romney out. This odd, awkward coupling is another example of what I don't get about Romney. Ryan--I know what he stands for.

I would imagine he stands for what he says he stands for. Sure you will get the flip flops, but they all have that. It won't be a case of not voting for someone who has not flip flopped, they all have, it will just be a case of who do you think is going to go in the right direction. Pretty much the economy, and other big ticket items, and their cost. To include Obamacare. The religious issues, the dogs carried or eaten, whatever else they come up with during the media colonoscopy, they will all be distractions, spending, taxes, debt, entitlements will be the core issues.

That's utter nonsense. Stock prices are reflective of market perception and speculation. Capital valuation of a company is not going to plummet because a small fraction of its investors have to pay 20% on their long term gains vs 15%. Everyone still pays the same rate on short term gains....

Yet during Clinton's run, when the capital gains rates were higher, stock prices rose....and yet during Bush's run, where he lowered the tax, prices plummeted. So you can post all the theories you want, but when it comes down to actual results, it's been proven that the higher tax didn't mean sh!t all in the force of price ascension. Plus, who the f@ck sits around and only plays the calls? You play both ends of the spectrum and run shorts and put options to hedge bets.

Yeah, but you cannot trust republicans..:) If Mitt Romney were to release them because his father did, a tradition, that would make him resistant to change, keeping the status quo. It seems he is taking the progressive solution, and going with change...:)
