You mean the same Arizona that does understand federal preemption...oh well, it is federal law...so where is the conflict.....

And yes , parts of SB 1070 PREEMPTED federal law .
The " papers please " part may be REVISITED after implementation .

This makes the most sense to me. When they get the permits to work, their status should not change, they will be able to participate in the system. They work get laid off, they should get the same benefits as everyone else. There should be no rush for them to sign up for every public benefit now, as most are already participating in the system. The policy defers prosecution. These are the illegals that do need a path to citizenship, there is a way to make this work. It doesn't have to be sweeping total immigration changes, it could be a stand alone bill, but that isnot the way the game is played in Washington. If someone isn't throwing Grandma off the cliff, they want to put y'all back in chains, or they are too rich to understand......

Unless someone can do more than just disagree, and explain to me where the conflict is, what federal law it conflicts with, I stand by my belief that there is no conflict.
