my husband was deployed to Korea, he is trying to file for divorce... Yet he cheated on me while he was over there... We have been happily married for a year and a 1/2.. This is a shock to me, i want to know what to do if he files and what kind of benefits, and financial support i will get from him... Do i have to file charges too? Should i do it first? Does it hurt or help... I told him i wanted to work things through, couseling whatever it takes, but he doesn't want too... What is going to happen.. He committed adultry, yet he's filing... I'm confused...

Who'd he cheat with a GI or a juicy girl?
I have contacts at both Osan and Kunsan if he is Air Force.
Odds are you will not get much if any financial support. He is on his short tour now, I guess you'd keep the BAH while he is in Korea and you are still married.

he cheated with a juicy girl,he's AF at Kunsan. he didn't even use a condom... I told him i want to work it out, he didn't at 1st then he changed his mind.. Now he tells me that it isn't going to work w/ us. He was only there for a month when he did it. We have been married for over a year.. We have our cars together, credit cards, etc etc... accounts.. Everything.. I mean, i love him but it can't be a one-sided marriage.. All i know he said he was going to find out options from legal over there in Korea... He won't even call me anymore, this was a decision he just made less than a week ago.. And i mean before that, i just got a letter from him stating exactly the opposite of what he's asking for now..

You won't get any benefits after the divorce is final. Why would you want to be with someone who cheats on you? If you let him get away with it once he will probably keep doing it. And him being in the military will just make it that much easier.

Tell your lawyer you want part of his retirement, you may not get it until he retires and it won't be much because of the length of time you were married, but you are entitled.
