what happened to the recovery board?
      #14272 - 06/03/05 03:05 PM

Hi all -- what happened to the DS recovery board? I wasn't able to check it yesterday, and then today -- zap, it is gone and we are converted (?) to Life after Divorce? Is there any way to check the old messages (from the last day in May -- or they have been evaporated?

Hey bacall :-)

Yesterday morning, you could still check the old boards, although the links from the homepage were inactive. Sometime yesterday afternoon, they disconnected the whole thing and changed the homepage.

My guess is that there was too much poor conduct in the other format, with no real way to regulate postings.

This one isn't quite as easy to navigate, imo....but hopefully it will keep the ickiness to a minimum.

Have a great day.

Hi Bacall.. glad to see you here. I had to use Karen1 as plain Karen was already taken. Got your e mail and will reply later. I hope the regular posters register and come here. DS could have given some warning, given us a chance to read the threads at least, even if we could not post. Oh well, least is free!

Time is drawing closer for the settlement hearing this month, with trial scheduled for next month. Stbx has sent a new settlement proposal, 3 options.. have not had a chance to really delve into yet. He very conveniently left out several things that were in my proposal. He should know me well enough after 30 years together that I will not just ignore those issues as he has chosen to. Got your e mail and will try to answer this evening, or tomorrow. This house has somehow gotten into a messy state. Has to me as am the only one here. My excuse is that I worked outside over last weekend and every evening this week. I so do NOT need an acre of ground with trees and bushes that need trimmed to take care of any longer.

Lucky, Allie, so glad you are here! I have been hoping the regulars would all make their way here, newbies too. We might not hear from Lyn for a while, her son and fiancee's wedding day is very rapidly approaching. DS could have been thoughful and nice and posted a warning or something. Gee, don't they realize many of us are friends who don't want to lose contact?

Hi Everyone. I emailed DS directly. I was really upset because they didn't even warn us! Glad to be back!

I'm not sure if I'm even in this stupid system yet.
For someone who can't even cut and paste this is a
stretch. Hopefully this will post.

If it does, glad to be back with here you guys...
otherwise I'm stuck in the black hole of cyberworld.

I don't like this version either. In a way it feels like divorce all over again...someone else making decisions for your life without telling you...even though it belongs to DivorceSource...and it's free...so...once again I'll go searching for my cheese that someone has moved. I'm just glad Nancy, the smart one, helped me find my way this far. Thank You a la'Orange.

Love always,
ginni

One nice feature is that it "bumps" a thread to the top when there is a new post. Also, they are up indefinitely so threads don't scroll off the page. We could (theoretically) keep a thread going for months!
