Who knows what motivates some of these kids to pick on others. I hate the thought of the fighting, but realize that if a kid throws the first punch at my son, he has every right to defend himself. If a kid just walks away, it only gets worse because the bully now knows he has an easy mark and nothing will happen to him.
I don't think you should ever start a fight, but if someone else is determined that they are, then get in there and win it any way you can. Then when the kid is picking himself up off the ground, maybe he will think twice before he starts another fight.

"Reballing". That's a good one.

It is crazy how women and men think on a different level. Yes, I am a woman and a proud mother of three. I was reading through your discusssion on regards to bullying and fighting. I say put some faith in your children to make the right choices. You could not have said it better "genetically %50 of that boy is from his dad". I just want to add a comment to this. Men fighting is as common as women creating drama!!! Every man in my life and that is a lot has been in a fight. However, it doesn't make it right, but in my eye's and having two son's, I am just going to be prepared for when they get in a fight. It is bound to happen.
