abandonment of home??

i've been told that in florida if one spouse moves out of the home shortly after filing for divorce that there is a question of abandonment of the property - has anyone heard of this?

Knowing absolutely nothing about Florida law, I would say that is silly. Wouldn't almost half of all spouses move out of the home shortly after filing for divorce?? :) I think perhaps you are referring not to the moving out, but the paying of the bills?

Sorry, but that is nonsense. You do not lose an interest in the home because you relocated from it.

I don't know the laws in F;orida, in Virginia if you file for divorce and then move out of the home you cannot be gotten for abandonment
