Oh dear lord! The BM won't receive the papers until later this morning and I'm already petrified. I'm supposed to start my 12 hour shift in 4 more hours, but I can't fall asleep. My stomach is in knots! I've been cleaning the house like a possessed lunatic.
It's commonplace to be verbally attacked by her. That, I think I can handle. But, I can't count how many times we have beenthisclose to a physical fight. My husbands petition for custody will drive her over the edge. Trust me! Right before my husband and I got married, he filed for custody after she left the girls with him for a few months to check into rehab (which she never went to). After he filed the petition, she went nuts. Followed him to daycare and as soon as he left, she stormed in, beat the crap out of one of the workers, and took her kids back. The daycare employee was a complete stranger. Can you imagine how she's gonna react to me, the person she hates more than anything? I don't think I'll ever be able to sleep again.

Okay sweetie...first off...calm down!! LOL If she is stupid enough to even THINK about physically attacking you, then she will go to jail. If she comes near you, make it very clear that if she touches you...you WILL press charges and put her ass in jail. If she goes to jail, you will file for emergency custody. For the next few days, do everything possible to be around other people. Do you have a cell phone? A Camcorder? Keep them handy...If she comes near you turn that camcorder on and tell her, "Smile!! You are on candid camera!" LOL
Seriously, I know you are nervous, but you can't control what she does, only how you react and how you protect yourself.

I agree with TGSM. Stay near people and if you work in a hospital have security walk you to your car if you usually walk alone. Take precautions.

Stay calm. Just remember to be alert and ready. Walk to your car with someone. Don't let your guard down and have 911 on speed dial. Let the police deal with the looney!

The daycare worker didn't press charges because she felt sorry for her. I do have a nice article clipped out from the newspaper, though.
I've settled down a bit since earlier this morning. The heart rate is a cool 70 bpm instead of the 130 it was earlier. And, I'm breathing normally again.
I am prepared/braced for the worst. My 12 y/o had been hanging out at the house alone while I worked. She's at her Dad's now. I put my neighbors (all of whom don't work outside of the home) on alert. I've asked them to keep an extra close eye on our house whether we're home or not. 9-1-1 is programmed into speed dial on the home phone and the cell phone is charged and ready. I don't have pepper spray, though. Where do you buy that?
The lawyer said no RO unless she makes a move that threatens our safety. He said, in her case, a RO wouldn't be much a deterrant anyway. Nice, Real Nice!
Hey, guys! Thanks for being there. Lord knows that over the next several months, I'm gonna really need your support!
