Service connected disablity Pension.what happnes?

Well this is my first post as i just started down the trail on a seperation -divorce,. So I have lots of qusestions ,concerns and apprehensions.
I'm a NY state resident and have been married about 25 years. I recieve a Service connected disablity pension from the Gov.due to war time injuries . Can anyone tell me if this is up for grabs in my divorce ? It is not a retirement benefit .It is a disablity award as I said above based on a combat injury.
Any hep on this would be much appreciated.

Have you posted on the military board on this site? There is more activity there and you might find response there from others in related military issues.

The service connected disability you receive cannot be divided as property.

However, it can be taken into account when child support is an issue. Usually, all income from all sources is used to determine child support. It can also be garnished for child support and/or alimony.
