An inconvenient truth?
      #231907 - 05/07/07 10:31 AM

Has anyone seen this email regarding Gore's house in Nashville? I just got it.

Here it is on snopes...

Doesn't make the data and the message from "An Inconvienent Truth" any less real.

Just as there are Jimmy Swagart and Jim Baker's in this world, doesn't make religion any less real.

And actually, from what I've read about Gore's house, though it's huge, it is one of the most energy efficient homes for it's size.

I'd also like to add that if you look at the three "sources" provided for this article, they are all from conservative, Republican camps. Hardly unbiased. The article also points out that not everything is entirely true or accurate.

Reread the "Origins" section. It won't copy and paste for some reason.

Ummm you mean the part that says the email "has a fair bit of truth to it"? That means it's true LOL.

No, it doesn't mean that. And since when is "snoops.com" a "crediable" source of ANYTHING?

It admits it's a RUMOR page.

Wow, snopes is pretty credible Susan. I'll let them know you don't think so...I guess all that stuff you post, all these articles and what not are 100% true, right? You are hysterical.

It's "snopes.com" and it is not a rumor page; it is a site dedicated to debunking urban legends and it is extremely credible.

The "fair bit of truth"...is in the "times" factor...20 vs 12.

If you go futher into the research, it says even taking into consideration mitigating facts...the size of the home (4x the size of the "average" home, the business/personal use of the home and that the electric bill includes a "premium" for obtaining "green" sources)...the energy use is still pretty high for someone promoting "conservation".
