Hi, my wife has just left me and i have recieved a letter from her solicitors that they will be insigating divorce proceeding shortly. I and my wife have been married for two years, we stayed at my parents home. My father and i have a property which is on rent, i have never invested any money into the property it just has my name on it anlong with my father's. Can my partner try to get something from that property? Is there a way around this, maybe remove my name from the property? Any other way? please help!!!

Can your father prove that he is the only one that has paid the mortgage? ie canceled checks for mortgage and insurance. Who are the rent check made out to? Can he show that he solely received money for rent and didn't give you any part? You might want to hire a lawyer to show that the name on the title was for a convenience to your father only.
